This summer, Dr. Robert Lamb, Research Assistant Professor at the UF/IFAS Nature Coast Biological Station, led a group of undergraduate students on a month-long Research Tutorials Abroad (RTA) program in the Galapagos Islands. Supported by $6,000 in RTA funding, the program provided airfare, lodging, and per diem for two student participants: Melanie Gomez and Noah Stauch, both SFFGS Marine Science majors who worked in the lab and field during the trip.

The University of Florida recently hosted ten undergraduate students from Kyoto University as part of a new official Kyoto University-sponsored exchange program. Selected from 45 applicants across diverse majors, the students were accompanied by Associate Professor Fumitaka Wakamatsu for their stay in Gainesville.
This program offered Kyoto students a short-term academic and cultural experience at UF. The visit included a welcome meeting organized by Dr. Michael Kung and Dean Marta L. Wayne, along with a full schedule of academic and cultural activities.
This inaugural program marked an important step in strengthening the partnership between UF and Kyoto University.
