My Journey, My Learning: Experiences of an Indian Fulbrighter

Dr. Pradeep Kumar Misra is a Professor and Director of the Centre for Policy Research in Higher Education at the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, New Delhi, India. Pradeep is a 2024-2025 Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the UF College of Education. His Fulbright project title is Policies and Practices of Integrating Technology for EQUAL Educational Opportunities in US Universities: Lessons and Cautions for Indian Universities.

Kole Ade Odutola is a Yoruba Associate Instructional Professor in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures. Yoruba is a language of West Africa with over 25 million speakers. It is spoken, among other languages, in Nigeria, Benin, and Togo and traces of it are found among communities in Brazil, Sierra Leone, northern Ghana and Cuba.  Learn more about the FLL – African Languages Specialization here.

The College of Education-sponsored International Fair was a resounding success! The event featured guest tables from globally engaged UF departments and organizations, international-focused student groups, as well as UF and community resources. Attendees enjoyed local tasting opportunities showcasing a variety of global cuisines and a lively salsa demonstration by AscenDance Salsa Co.

The College of Journalism and Communications hosted a delicious lunch featuring dishes from around the world. International students shared "Tiny Travel Tales" encouraging attendees to pursue global experiences. Go Global Gators!

UFIC Exchange Student Services kicked off International Education Week (as well as the holiday season) with a successful Global Holiday Postcard event. Participants had the chance to decorate postcards to send home, including postage, and crafts!

The Potluck dinner for UF International Fulbright Students & Scholars featured dishes from Jamaica, Denmark, Mexico, Germany, Greece, Netherlands, and the US. Attendees included Davis UWC Scholars, SAPA, and other Honors students.
