Dr. Daeun "Dana" Choi was Elected to the Management Committee of the Club of Bologna

Dr. Daeun "Dana" Choi, a UF assistant professor of agricultural and biological engineering at UF's Gulf Coast Research and Education Center was elected to the Management Committee of the Club of Bologna.  Dr. Choi will be the youngest member and the only member from the Americas on the committee.   The eighty-five full members of the club  meet annually in Bologna, Hannover, or Bari to "promote discussions and exchange of experiences among the leading international experts from research, industry and international organizations in the field of agricultural machines and mechanization."  UF has a strong tradition of participation and leadership in the club by faculty and alumni.

UF Faculty Selected for U.S. Embassy-Sponsored COIL Initiative

The University of Florida continues to be one of the few U.S. institutions selected to participate in the program “Expanding and Embedding COIL Virtual Exchange at Honduran and Central American Universities,” a regional partnership initiative supported by the United States Embassy in Tegucigalpa. Two UF faculty were selected to participate in the program this fall:

Jane K (Evgeniya Kozhevnikova) is a composer, pianist, educator, and one of the founding members of the International Student Council.  Jane is a proud recipient of various awards, including DownBeat Magazine’s Outstanding Performance award (Latin jazz, 2019), the “Music Now” contest—a part of Indiana State University’s Contemporary Music Festival, 1st and Special Prizes at the 2020 International Composers’ Competition Opus Ignotum, among others. Jane currently serves as a TA in UF’s undergraduate music theory program.

Dr. Muthusami Kumaran, Associate Professor of Nonprofit Management & Community Organization, Department of Family, Youth & Community Sciences, CALS has just received an Honorary Doctorate for his lifetime service to build the capacity of global NGO sector and for the work on his book “Managing A Million Missions: Strategic Capacity Building for NGOs.” It was awarded by the World Academy of Arts and Culture (based in California and approved by UNESCO) during one of its annual events the World Congress of Poets held November 20 - 25 in the city Madurai, India.
