Prof. Alpa Nawre and Michael Kung just came back after leading a group of 3 Landscape Architecture masters students to several villages in central India. The trip was quite successful, and they were able to see multiple existing projects that their students were working on. They stopped by two main sites in two states, and at one site, their students paired up with students from a nearby university (NIT Raipur), and were able to observe and interview villagers and community leaders/government officials. They conducted similar activities at the other site, and the students were featured in a local newspaper.
When it came time to choose a location for her fieldwork, Master of Occupational Therapy student Sarah Siebrandt knew she was ready for a challenge. At Centro de Rehabilitación, Educación, Capacitación, Estudios y Recursos, Inc., or CRECER, in Ecuador, she found the right challenge: a language barrier, a new country and being thousands of miles away from family and friends.
“In occupational therapy, we are continually giving our clients the ‘just right challenge’ — the specific amount of difficulty for them to be challenged by an activity yet be successful to help them grow and reach new goals,” she said. “Going to CRECER provided this for me.”

The Spanish delegation included faculty from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), researchers from the Instituto Valenciano de Investigaciones Agrarias (IVIIA) and members of the Valencia Citrus Growers Association.
The Gator Citrus Club (GCC) organized a program agenda for the Spanish delegation which included a tour of the UF Citrus Research and Education Center (CREC) in Lake Alfred, visits to the Horticultural Science (HOS) and Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE) Departments on campus, as well as a tour of W. G. Roe & Son's citrus farms in Winter Haven.
